Description:SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for developing and managing a small business lending portfolio within a designated market area of the bank; fostering the bank�s relationship management culture by actively pursuing new small business lending opportunities from current and prospective customers; communicating with relationship management personnel with respect to sales objectives, sales performance and other factors; and, providing required information on sales and service activities.
Duties:1. Manages a small business lending portfolio within one of the bank�s designated market areas:
---a. Jointly establishes quantitative sales objectives with assigned supervisor on an annual basis; this activity is to be integrated with the retail services annual marketing/sales plan.
---b. Approves within designated loan authority or recommends for approval small business loan requests based on information obtained from loan applications, credit reports and supporting documentation within established Loan Policy Guidelines.

2. Fosters the bank�s relationship management culture:
---a. Provides direct service to customers for small business loan services and assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other areas of the bank.
---b. Solicits new business from present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.
---c. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank retail and commercial products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell or to make referrals in conjunction with such needs.
---d. Maintains a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact small business lending.
---e. Works with the Regional Market Manager and assigned community office personnel in the development and evaluation of existing and new small business opportunities.
---f. Provides sales information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of monthly and year-to-date sales performance reports.
---g. Monitors individual sales performance versus objectives and discusses performance with assigned supervisor on a frequent basis.
h. Participates in relationship management meetings with community office personnel, as necessary.
---i. Establishes and maintains relationships with COIs.

3. Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the bank�s adherence to outside regulatory requirements.

4. Communicates with the Regional Market Manager and interfaces with other department managers and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

5. Provides periodic reports to the Regional Market Manager, various committees and other groups as required throughout the bank.
Qualifications:REQUIRED EDUCATION:
An Associates Degree in a related field is required; or, equivalent combination of education and specialized banking experience related to community banking and/or commercial or small business lending.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years� experience in related positions. Minimum two (2) years Credit Department experience and one (1) to two (2) years Small Business Lending experience is desirable. Previous experience with personal computers, Word and Excel software and office equipment is also required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must possess a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact the small business lending sales function; and, skills/experience associated with implementing small business lending sales strategies. Also required are strong communication skills; well-developed business development and sales abilities (with sales/service orientation); and above-average organizational and analytical skills. Must have the ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with fellow bank employees and customers. Must be able to work at a pace that ensures that established deadlines are met.
